Client portal security
How to share tax and financial documents with the firm safely.
Use the portal, not email
The firm's client portal is password-protected and hosted by its portal provider at securefirmportal.com. Clients use it to store and exchange documents. Without an account, use Send a file, which uploads straight to a member of the firm.
Keep your login safe
- Before you type your password, check that the address bar shows securefirmportal.com.
- Use a password you do not use anywhere else, and do not share it.
- Log out when you use a shared computer.
- Forgot your password? Use the reset link on the client portal page.
What not to send by email or the message form
Social Security numbers, bank and card numbers, tax returns and IRS letters. Send those through the portal or Send a file.
Messages that claim to be the IRS
Scammers pretend to be the IRS by phone, email and text. The IRS explains how to spot them on its page Recognize tax scams and fraud. If a message worries you, call (877) 682-1171 before you reply to it.
Questions about the portal provider's security measures: ask the office. This page describes how to use the portal safely; it is not a description of the provider's systems.
