Texas tax
No tax due report
A no tax due report was a Texas franchise tax filing for entities under the revenue threshold; since the 2024 report year, many such entities file an information report instead.
Under the old rules, a Texas entity with revenue at or below the threshold filed a no tax due report to show it owed nothing. A 2023 law, Senate Bill 3, changed that. The Comptroller says that for the 2024 report year and later, an entity at or below the threshold does not file this report.
That entity must still file a Public Information Report or an Ownership Information Report. Missing that filing can still cause problems with the account. The Texas franchise tax entry explains the threshold, and the no tax due post covers what changed. A limited liability company should check its status each May.
